Ninja Time Throwables — Sub-Weapon Guide

Throwables are sub-weapons equipped from your inventory and thrown with the H key. They fill the ranged-poke role in Ninja Time combat, letting you harass from a distance, finish low-HP targets and interrupt enemy combos without spending a jutsu slot.

Search landing for 'throwables', 'shuriken', 'kunai' and 'Ninja Time weapons'. Every throwable except the Sand Senbon is available to all clans — the Sand variant requires completing the Sand Village weapon pass first.

What throwables are

Throwable sub-weapons are separate from your equipped jutsu. They live in your inventory, are equipped by clicking them, and are thrown with the H key. They share a short cooldown per throw, but you can carry a stack and rapid-fire basic throws.

Smoke Bombs and Flash Bombs are utility-grade — they do not deal damage but create battlefield conditions (obscured vision or brief blindness) that buy space in a fight.

Full throwable list

Shuriken and kunai are the baseline throwables available from the Main Village blacksmith at any level. Windmill Shuriken, senbon variants and Anbu blade tags require specific boss kills or quest progress.

How to equip and throw

Open your inventory (Tab or I key), click the throwable to equip it, then press H to throw. The throw direction follows your mouse cursor. You can hold H to charge an aimed throw for slightly higher damage.

Utility throwables (Smoke Bomb, Flash Bomb) activate on impact — time them against groups or fleeing enemies.

Throwables in combat

In extended fights, throwables fill the gap between jutsu cooldowns. A kunai thrown at a fleeing enemy secures a kill you would otherwise miss. Shuriken pressure forces opponents to block or dodge, burning their movement cooldowns.

Smoke Bombs reset bad positioning — throw one at your feet and Teleporter or dash out. Flash Bombs work best as a finisher: throw at close range when an enemy is low to prevent their escape jutsu.

Windmill Shuriken is the highest-damage option but has a long cooldown. Use it as a punish tool rather than a lead-in.

  • Throwable cooldowns are per-item, not global — you can alternate shuriken and kunai.
  • Charged throws (hold H) deal 20-30% more damage but telegraph the throw.
  • Smoke Bomb + Teleporter is the standard reset combo.
  • Flash Bomb at close range during an enemy awakening animation lands reliably.

Throwable tips

Keep at least one stack of each utility throwable (Smoke Bomb, Flash Bomb) in your quick-access inventory slot. You do not want to open the full inventory during a fight.

Anbu Blade Tags are rare and cap your stack at 3 — use them for clutch moments, not spam.

Throwables FAQ

Do throwables share a cooldown? Basic throws (shuriken, kunai) share a short global cooldown. Smoke Bombs and Flash Bombs each have their own cooldowns.

Can I use throwables while airborne? Yes — throwables can be thrown mid-air and while dashing.

Do Sand weapons require Sand Village progress? Sand Senbon does; the regular senbon sold at the Sand Village shop does not.

Are Anbu Blade Tags worth farming? The brief enemy mark is useful in PvP; the drop rate (Anbu Captain, ~5%) makes it a niche farm item.
