How to Join Akatsuki in Ninja Time
Akatsuki is Ninja Time's end-game renegade faction. Members get exclusive quests, the Ankokuji Cloak (+10% Chakra) and access to the Ankokuji Sword farm — but the path demands level 80, 118 Chi Essences and the correct mission choice at Ishikage.

What is Akatsuki
Akatsuki is a story faction in Ninja Time — the rogue organization from the Naruto universe. Joining unlocks renegade missions, the Ankokuji Cloak accessory and a dedicated boss route through the Ankokuji Leader.
Unlike player Guilds (the August 2026 social feature), Akatsuki is a one-time character progression path. You choose Renegade at the Elite Secret mission or lock into the ANBU branch instead.
Requirements
You need level 80 before Ishikage offers the Elite Secret mission. Plan to farm Chi Essences while leveling — most bosses drop them at a 25% rate, and raid bosses guarantee a full payout.
- Level 80 minimum — no shortcuts or codes bypass this gate.
- Pick Renegade at the Elite Secret mission — Secret ANBU permanently blocks Akatsuki.
- 18 Chi Essences for the Talisman, then 100 more for the leader's quest (118 total).
- A mount (Bird at level 22) speeds up travel to the God NPC and Akatsuki cave.
Party up for Bone and Kurama raids — they guarantee Chi Essence and cut the grind in half.
Step-by-step walkthrough
Follow the numbered steps below in order. Skipping the Renegade choice or handing Essences to the wrong NPC will send you back to square one.

Reach level 80
Grind main quests, world bosses and daily missions until you hit level 80. The Elite Secret mission only appears once you cross this threshold.

Accept the Elite Secret mission (Renegade)
Visit Ishikage inside the Hokage building in Hidden Leaf Village. Pick the level-80 Elite Secret mission and choose Renegade — not Secret ANBU. The ANBU path locks you out of Akatsuki permanently on that character.

Farm 18 Chi Essences
Defeat world bosses until you hold 18 Chi Essence. Demon Brother Right, Stone Leo, Icy and Stone Brother each drop at a 25% rate and are the fastest early farms.

Craft the Talisman at the God NPC
Travel west of the village and find Hagiromo (the God NPC) sitting under a tree. Hand over all 18 Chi Essences — he crafts the Talisman that unlocks the Akatsuki cave.

Enter the Akatsuki cave
Exit through Konoha's south gate, follow the river south past the forest until you reach the waterfall area. Look for the Torii gate with talismans on the right side of the rock — use the Talisman on the marked object to open the passage.

Complete the leader's quest
Inside the cave, talk to the Ankokuji Leader. His first mission asks for 100 additional Chi Essences. Turn them in to officially join Akatsuki and receive the Ankokuji Cloak.
Chi Essence farming
Chi Essence drops from nearly every world boss. For the initial 18, farm the easy southern spawns. For the leader's 100-Essence quest, pivot to raid bosses once you hit level 70+.

Talisman & Akatsuki cave
After collecting 18 Chi Essences, find Hagiromo (the God NPC) west of Hidden Leaf Village — he sits under a tree near the arena wall. Hand over the Essences and he crafts the Talisman.
With the Talisman equipped, head south of the village: exit Konoha's south gate, follow the river past the forest and waterfall. Look for a Torii gate with talismans on the right side of the rock near the river. Use the Talisman on the marked object to open the cave entrance.
Leader quest
Inside the Akatsuki cave, talk to the Ankokuji Leader. His first mission requires 100 additional Chi Essences. Turn them in to officially join and receive the Ankokuji Cloak on the spot.
After membership, the Ankokuji Leader also spawns as a world boss (level 75, 8-minute respawn) with a 1% Ankokuji Sword drop — see the Bosses and Items pages for the full table.
Rewards
The Ankokuji Cloak is the headline reward — +10% Chakra capacity, one of the strongest accessories in the current meta. Renegade missions and the Ankokuji Sword round out the end-game package.
