Ninja Time Sage Mode / Toad Sage Guide
Sage Mode is a region quest, not a clan. You climb past Ankokuji to Mount Myoboku, sit the toad instructor’s exam, push Sage Awakening mastery to 15, then kill five Chief Toads.
Search landing for “toad sage”, “Mount Myoboku” and “how to get sage mode”. KCM is a different bar on the Kurama lake. ToadSage! expired; the forest did not.
What Sage Mode is
A toad-plateau transformation from the June 2026 Myoboku pass. Any kit can walk it. Hero + Wind is the Naruto costume; Purple Eyes and Red Eyes still kill Chief Toad faster. It does not replace Nine Tails Mode.
Toad Forest route
North, not west. Leave Main Village on the mountain / waterfall road used for Ankokuji, then keep climbing into Toad Forest and the upper plateau. A Bird mount after level 22 skips most of the hill. Sand Village is the opposite desert.
| Name | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Region | Mount Myoboku / Toad Forest, north of Ankokuji — not Sand Village |
| Exam | Sage instructor trial + no-fall climb to the upper toad plateau |
| Mastery | Sage Awakening mastery 15 before the Chief Toad quest appears |
| Boss | Five Chief Toad kills (party recommended) |
| Codes | ToadSage!, MountMyo!, ToadForest! are expired; the content is live |
Sage Awakening
After the exam, the next NPC line stays locked until Sage Awakening mastery is over 15. Quests fill the bar instantly — open Attributes and spend it or the extra XP vanishes. The French community walkthrough is still the cleanest camera path for this gate.
- 1
Reach the northern mountain road
From Main Village, take the same uphill / waterfall route used for Ankokuji. Mount Myoboku and Toad Forest sit past the northern cliffs — not west into Sand Village. A Bird mount after level 22 skips most of the climb.
- 2
Pass the sage instructor exam
The toad instructor runs the Toad Forest trial. Finish the exam and the no-fall climb to the upper plateau. ToadSage!, MountMyo! and ToadForest! were the matching codes; they expired. The region did not.
- 3
Raise Sage Awakening mastery to 15
After the first toad form unlocks, the next quest stays locked until Sage Awakening mastery is over 15. Spend the mastery in Attributes the moment a quest caps the bar — leftover XP is wasted.
- 4
Defeat five Chief Toads
The mastery-15 follow-up asks for five Chief Toad kills. The frog is a party boss, not a dummy. Bring Ice / Particle and a group; a solo clear is slow. Credit is per player who deals damage in the window.
Chief Toad
Five kills, party recommended. The frog is not a training dummy. Ice or Particle helps the add clear. You only need to deal damage in the window to get credit. Solo is possible and slow.
Sage tips
Bank a Bird or Purple Eyes Bird Invocation before the climb. Do not confuse the Kurama lake (Nine Tails) with the toad plateau. Expired codes never skipped the exam.
- Spend Sage Awakening mastery the moment a quest caps the bar.
- Group Chief Toad; the HP pool is built for a party.
- KCM and Sage Mode can both sit on a kit — different bars.
- ToadSage! / MountMyo! / ToadForest! are expired spin strings only.
Sage Mode FAQ
Spin versus quest, the “not ready” line, expired codes, and KCM versus Sage.
- Is Sage Mode a clan spin?
- No. It is a region quest on Mount Myoboku. Any kit can walk the exam. Hero family plus Wind is the Naruto look; Purple Eyes and Red Eyes still clear Chief Toad faster.
- The instructor says I am not ready.
- Sage Awakening mastery is under 15. Spend mastery in Attributes after any quest that fills the bar, then talk again.
- Do I need ToadSage! to enter?
- No. That string only paid spins when the June 2026 pass shipped. The forest, the exam and Chief Toad stay after the code died.
- Is this the same as Nine Tails / KCM?
- No. KCM is a Kurama raid drop on the northern lake (Map Location 19). Sage Mode is the toad plateau past that mountain. You can wear both; they are different bars.
