Ninja Time Beginner & Progression Guide

New to Ninja Time or stuck in the mid game? This guide walks you through the whole journey, from finishing the tutorial to building an end-game character that melts bosses.

Each section tackles a specific pain point players hit, with concrete steps you can follow right away.

Getting started

After spawning at the Main Village reception, talk to the early quest-givers and complete the tutorial exam. You will fight training logs, learn to throw shuriken with H and use your first jutsu. Roll your starting Clan, Element and Family from the Customize menu and equip a skill before heading out.

Leveling fast

Leveling grants stat points to unlock skills and jutsu. The fastest XP comes from chaining quests and subquests with boss farming.

  • Complete every tutorial and side quest you can early — they give large XP chunks.
  • Farm bosses near your level in a group to clear them quickly.
  • Use strong AoE skills to tag multiple enemies at once.
  • Equip XP-boosting quests from trainer NPCs around the map.

Earning money

Money comes as Copper, Silver and Gold coins. You need it for mounts, gear and upgrades. Quests are the steadiest income, supported by boss runs that drop sellable loot. Bank enough Silver and Gold before level 22 so you can afford a mount the moment it unlocks.

Stats & training

You raise individual stats through specific training actions rather than only leveling:

  • HP: abdominal exercises.
  • ATK: situps.
  • Taijutsu: squats and situps.
  • Agility: hold J for chakra jumps.
  • Hand Sign Speed: regen chakra (hold B) and use throwables (H).
  • Chakra: meditate (hold I).

Best builds

Once you understand the systems, aim for a synergised build. Top combinations pair a strong clan with a matching family and a high-damage element — Meteor Red Eyes + Fire, Teleporter Red Eyes + Fire, Thousand Hands + Ice, or Purple Eyes + Black Flames. See the tier list for full rankings.

Ultimate Raven Susanoo

Clan / Element / Family: Raven (Ultimate) / Fire / Scorch / Red Eyes

The August 2026 headline build. Raven plus Totsuka / Yata and a Fire or Scorch tree carries Full Susanoo once Friends quest and spirit essences are done.

Purple Eyes Ultimate

Clan / Element / Family: Purple Eyes / Black Flames / Explosion / Purple Eyes

Still the strongest raw AoE. Universal Pull and Demonic Statue, bolstered by Black Flames or Explosion burst damage.

Red Eyes Meteor

Clan / Element / Family: Red Eyes (Meteor mode) / Fire / Red Eyes

Top PvP and boss burst build. Meteor Red Eyes plus Fire Entei and Fire Dragon melts raid windows and world bosses alike.

Red Eyes Teleporter

Clan / Element / Family: Red Eyes (Teleporter mode) / Fire / Red Eyes

Mobile assassination build with Teleporter blink combos and Fire follow-up. Dominates PvP and fast world boss clears.

Thousand Hands Ice

Clan / Element / Family: Thousand Hands / Ice / Thousand Hands

Area-control farming monster. Ice stun locks groups while Thousand Hands clan skills shred HP — the best sustained DPS combo.

Sand Magnet

Clan / Element / Family: Fighter / Yellow Thunder / Iron Sand / Gold Dust / Fighter

Accessible Sand Village build. Iron Sand or Gold Dust gives zone control without a Divine clan roll.

White Eyes Hybrid

Clan / Element / Family: White Eyes / Wind / Ice / White Eyes

Balanced ranged and defensive kit with strong synergy between clan and family passives.

Fighter Starter

Clan / Element / Family: Fighter / Ice / Fighter

Accessible build for new players. Ice stun helps farming while Fighter provides reliable close-range DPS.

Boss strategy

Bosses have high health and dangerous moves, so preparation matters more than raw power.

  • Charge chakra fully before engaging and keep it topped up with B.
  • Use Target Lock (Middle Click) to stay on a moving boss.
  • Fill your mode bar (Meteor, Teleporter or Susanoo on Red Eyes) and transform for burst windows.
  • Bring friends for world bosses like the Nine Tails (Kurama) on its fixed schedule.

Answers to the questions new shinobi ask most often.

How do I unlock my first jutsu?
Open the menu (M), go to the skill tree, pick an element and unlock a skill. Assign a keybind (Z, X, C, V, R or T).
When do mounts unlock?
At level 22. Complete the A Good Company quest (travel 500,000 meters), then buy a Dog or Bird from Kaba near Ishikage's office. Press X to summon. See the Mounts guide for details.
What is the fastest way to level up?
Chain tutorial and side quests early, clear daily missions, then farm bosses near your level in a group using AoE skills. The Training page covers dummy loops between pulls.
Should I reroll my starting clan?
If you rolled Healer, Soul or Bug, yes. Keep any S-tier (Purple Eyes, Meteor, Thousand Hands, Raven) or strong A-tier immediately. Use codes for free spins.
How do I beat world bosses like Kurama?
Group up, charge chakra before engaging, use Target Lock and transform when your mode bar is full. Kurama and Bone spawn on fixed UTC schedules — see the Bosses page.
How do I unlock Susanoo?
You need a Red Eyes-line clan (Meteor, Teleporter or Raven), about 15–20 points in Clan and Genjutsu, the Friends quest (defeat 5 players), then the Uchiha Hideout stone. Full Susanoo also needs 50 Chakra and 100 spirit essences. See the Red Eyes and Susanoo pages.
