Ninja Time Nine Tails & KCM Guide
Nine Tails Mode is a raid drop, not a spin. You camp Kurama on the northern cliffs, bank the 1% Mode (or the 5% Skills start), then spend Chakra mastery to grow extra tails and the later Perfected KCM 2 cloak.
This page is the search landing for “how to get 9 tails”, “KCM 2” and “Kurama spawn”. The Bosses page still lists every other raid; come here when you only care about the beast bar.
What Nine Tails Mode is
A mode-bar cloak you earn from the Kurama raid. It is not a clan, not a family, and not the One-Tailed Hero world boss. Any kit can wear it after the drop. Hero family plus Wind is the Naruto fantasy; Purple Eyes and Red Eyes still clear the raid faster.
Kurama raid route
Map Location 19 — northern cliffs and the lake. From the Hokage / Ishikage mansion, mark the map with L, pass the arena, then climb. A Bird mount skips the hill. Kurama stands in the water and is built for a party, not a solo stroll.
- 1
Reach the northern cliffs
From the Hokage / Ishikage mansion, press L to show map markers. Head left of the mansion to the arena, then take the uphill path to the lake on the northern cliffs (Map Location 19). A Bird mount skips most of the walk.
- 2
Hit a Kurama window
Nine Tails is a raid, not a 5-minute world boss. It appears in the water on a fixed UTC clock (01:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 13:00, 16:00, 20:00). Bring a group — solo clears are rare.
- 3
Bank the Mode drop, then spend Chakra
Mode is 1%. Skills are 5%. After the Mode unlocks, dump Chakra mastery to 40 then 50 for tails two and three. Hold Z to stack tails in combat.
Spawn schedule
Fixed UTC windows about every three hours: 01:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 13:00, 16:00, 20:00. Convert to your timezone with the cards below. Miss the window and you wait — this is not a 5-minute world boss.
- UTC/GMT: 01:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 13:00, 16:00, 20:00

Tails & KCM stages
1 Tail starts from the Mode (or Skills) drop. 2 Tails needs 40 Chakra mastery. 3 Tails needs 50. Hold Z to stack tails in a fight. Perfected KCM 2 is the later cloak from the KCM2Release pass — same bar, extra arms and a perfected Tailed Beast Bomb. The PerfectedKCM! code is expired; the form is not.
| Name | Requirement | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Tail | Nine Tails Mode drop from Kurama (1%) or a Nine Tails Skills drop (5%) to start the tree | +20% Vitality mastery and +20% Chakra mastery. First punch-style beast skill on Z. |
| 2 Tails | 40 Chakra mastery after the first tail is unlocked | +25% Vitality / Chakra mastery. Barrage-style second skill. |
| 3 Tails | 50 Chakra mastery | +30% Vitality / Chakra mastery. Roar / beast bomb finisher. This is the live ceiling for most kits. |
| KCM / Perfected KCM 2 | KCM2Release-era form on top of Nine Tails Mode; Hero-family Naruto-style kits get the most mileage | Cloak overlay with extra arms and a perfected Tailed Beast Bomb. Not a separate spin — it sits on the same mode bar. |
Drops
Chi Essence is 100%. Clan / Element / Family tokens sit at 5% each. Nine Tails Skills are 5%. Nine Tails Mode is 1% — that is the camp target. One-Tailed Hero (Map Location 17, 5-minute respawn) can drop a Beast Chakra Ball; it will not replace the Kurama Mode drop.
| Drops | Rarity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Chi Essence | 100% | Always drops. Useful for Akatsuki Talisman and curse-mark crafts. |
| Clan / Element / Family tokens | 5% each | Spin fuel after the raid. |
| Nine Tails Skills | 5% | Starts the tailed skill tree if you do not have the Mode yet. |
| Nine Tails Mode | 1% | The actual beast-mode unlock. This is the drop people camp for. |
Nine Tails FAQ
Mode versus One-Tailed Hero, who can wear KCM, how to transform, and whether Perfected KCM 2 is still live.
- Is Nine Tails Mode the same as the One-Tailed Hero boss?
- No. One-Tailed Hero is a 5-minute world boss at Map Location 17 and can drop a Beast Chakra Ball. Kurama is the scheduled raid at Map Location 19 and is the source of Nine Tails Mode.
- Do I need a specific clan to use KCM?
- Any kit can wear Nine Tails Mode after the drop. Hero family plus Wind is the Naruto-style fantasy; Red Eyes and Purple Eyes still work and often clear the raid faster.
- How do I transform?
- Fill the mode bar with jutsu, then hold the mode key (G or B depending on client). Extra tails are stacked with Z once you have the mastery gates.
- Is Perfected KCM 2 still in the game?
- Yes. It shipped with the KCM2Release pass. Treat it as a later cloak on the same Nine Tails Mode, not a new spin. The PerfectedKCM! code is expired; the form is not.
