How to Join ANBU in Ninja Time
ANBU is the Leaf-aligned secret branch at level 80. You talk to Ishikage, pick Secret ANBU, clear initiation, then farm the Anbu Captain for the mask and blade.
This is not Akatsuki and not a player Guild. One Elite Secret choice per character — Renegade closes this door.
What ANBU is
ANBU is a story faction: stealth missions, village standing and the Anbu Captain farm. Guilds (/guild create) are a separate August 2026 social feature you can use on either faction.
Requirements
Level 80, the Elite Secret mission visible on Ishikage, and the discipline to pick Secret ANBU instead of Renegade. A Bird mount helps the mountain Captain farm afterward.
- Level 80 — no expired Anbu! code skips this.
- Secret ANBU at Ishikage — Renegade is the Akatsuki cloak route.

Reach level 80
The Elite Secret mission only appears on Ishikage after level 80. Finish Jonin exams, daily missions and world bosses first — there is no code that skips the gate.

Pick Secret ANBU — not Renegade
Talk to Ishikage in the Hokage building and open the level-80 Elite Secret mission. Choose Secret ANBU. Picking Renegade locks this character onto the Akatsuki path instead.

Report to the ANBU NPC
Leave the Hokage hall and look for the masked officer (often listed as Danzo by the community) in the courtyard beside the mansion. Accept the stealth / infiltration briefing.

Clear the initiation missions
The set mixes undetected movement, a timed objective and a boss fight. Bring a ranged Z-slot jutsu and avoid transforming until the stealth step is done — mode auras light you up.

Farm the Anbu Captain
Once initiated, the Anbu Captain on the north-west mountain (level 60, 5-minute respawn) drops the Anbu Blade (3%) and Anbu Mask (5%). You can farm him before joining, but membership raises the drop feel on repeat clears.

ANBU vs Akatsuki
ANBU stays with the village. Akatsuki is the renegade cloak (+10% Chakra) and Ankokuji cave. You cannot walk both on one character. Read the Akatsuki page before you click if you want the cloak more than the mask.

- Can I join both ANBU and Akatsuki?
- No. The Elite Secret mission is a one-time branch. Secret ANBU blocks the Renegade / Akatsuki cloak route on that character.
- Is ANBU the same as player Guilds?
- No. ANBU is a story faction. Guilds are player-made groups launched in August 2026. You can be ANBU and still /guild create.
- Do I need the expired Anbu! code?
- No. Anbu! was a spin code and has expired. Joining the faction is a quest, not a redemption.
- What level is the Anbu Captain?
- Level 60 on the north-west hill above the mountain path. He is farmable before you join; the mask and blade are the reason people camp him.
