Ninja Time Ranks Guide

Ninja Time runs a five-tier rank ladder from Academy Student all the way to Elite Jonin. Every promotion unlocks new quests, regions, jutsu slots and guild permissions, and the exam at the end of each tier gates your access to end-game content.

This page walks every rank, the exact promotion requirements, the stat and cosmetic rewards and the fastest ways to clear the exams without burning your daily spin stockpile.

What ranks are

Ranks are Ninja Time's progression tiers. They are not tied to your level alone — every promotion runs through an exam that tests your combat, stealth and questing skills.

Higher ranks unlock new regions (Sand Village, Valley of Reverence, Uchiha Hideout), better training rooms, more jutsu slots and eligibility to found or lead guilds at higher ranks.

Rank tiers

The table below lists the five ranks, the minimum level for the promotion exam, the stat-point reward and the XP gate you cross to be eligible. The stat-point reward is granted automatically the moment the exam is cleared.

Name Role Lv. Reward XP gate
Academy Student Tutorial & first quests 1 +0 stat points 0k
Genin Early game progression 15 +5 stat points 120k
Chunin Mid game & first raids 35 +10 stat points 480k
Jonin Late game & raid leadership 60 +15 stat points 1200k
Elite Jonin End game PvP / leaderboard 80 +25 stat points 2400k

Promotion exams

Every exam has its own NPC and location. Plan to travel to the right place with your party — most exams cannot be retaken until the next cooldown window.

  • Tutorial trials are run by the reception NPC inside Main Village.
  • Genin exams fire on the Training Academy sparring mats — bring at least one jutsu unlocked.
  • Chunin exams schedule in waves; queue up at the village entrance when the bell rings.
  • Jonin exams combine solo combat with escort objectives; party up to make the raid phase faster.
  • Elite Jonin promotion is a permanent unlock once you meet the requirements — re-take it any time.

Tips for the exams

A handful of universal tips separate a clean pass from a wasted evening.

  • Fill the mode bar before each timed trial — Meteor or Teleporter forms win seconds on wave rounds.
  • Bring at least one ranged jutsu (Z-slot Black Flames or Ice) for chunin stealth rounds.
  • Party up for the Jonin raid phase — solo Kurama clears are not realistic without an Elite Jonin form.
  • Save your best spins for after the Elite Jonin promotion: a strong clan reroll compounds the rank perks.

Common questions about promotion, retries and the Elite Jonin unlock.

Can I skip a rank?
No. You must clear every exam in order — Academy Student to Genin to Chunin to Jonin to Elite Jonin. Re-doing the tutorial counts as the Academy Student graduation.
How long does each exam take?
Genin and Chunin exams run between five and fifteen minutes. Jonin is twenty minutes including the raid phase. Elite Jonin is a single-night unlock once you meet the requirement.
Do I lose my rank if I die?
No. Failing an exam returns you to the rank you had before the attempt; you keep your levels, gear and stat points.
Are the Elite Jonin exams scheduled?
No — Elite Jonin promotion is a permanent unlock. You can re-take the requirement (solo Kurama or three Legendary guild bosses) as soon as your roster meets it.
