Ninja Time Elements Guide
Your Element is the second spin after Clan and the skill tree you press Z / X / C on all day. Ice still farms the map; Particle deletes bosses; Wood and Crystal hold the other S-tier chairs.
This page lists every Natural and Genkai option, how mastery 25 bonuses work, and which clans they should sit next to. Pair it with the Families page so all three spins pull in the same direction.
How elements work
Open Customize → Element and spend Element spins. Common Naturals (Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Lightning) sit near 19% each. Legendary genkai such as Ice, Wood, Crystal, Particle, Iron Sand and Gold Dust sit near 5%.
You can hold more than one element slot as you unlock them, but only the equipped element feeds its jutsu line. Spinning over a genkai you like is how most people lose Particle — lock it before you mash roll.
Element list
Genkai carry the late game. Naturals are fine until you can afford to chase Ice or Particle. The table below is the late-August 2026 ranking, including Particle after community lists put it with Ice and Wood.
| Name | Tier | Type | Rarity | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Particle | S | Genkai | Legendary | Onoki-style dissolve kit: high AoE, execute damage and one of the fastest flight moves. Community 2026 lists put it at or above Wood. Mastery 25 adds +5% Particle damage. |
| Wood | S | Genkai | Legendary | Highest AoE DPS for farming and bosses; the classic genkai ceiling. |
| Crystal | S | Genkai | Legendary | Extra range and damage boosts; excellent all-rounder. |
| Ice | S | Genkai | Legendary | Best stun and farming control; still the safest first genkai keep. |
| Iron Sand | A | Genkai | Legendary | Sand Village genkai — heavy control and magnet-style pressure. |
| Gold Dust | A | Genkai | Legendary | Sand companion to Iron Sand; strong burst and zone denial. |
| Explosion | A | Genkai | Legendary | Strong burst AoE; great step below S-tier genkai. |
| Boil | A | Genkai | Legendary | Solid damage-over-time pressure for mid and late game. |
| Scorch | A | Genkai | Legendary | High burn DPS; pairs with Fire-leaning Red Eyes kits. |
| Snow | B | Genkai | Legendary | Winter pass element; control-focused, slightly behind Ice. |
| Typhoon | B | Genkai | Legendary | Wind-adjacent genkai after the Typhoon patch; good mobility. |
| Lightning | B | Natural | — | Fast single-target damage; useful early and for mount quests. |
| Fire | B | Natural | — | Classic AoE; pairs well with Red Eyes / Meteor lines. |
| Wind | B | Natural | — | Good mobility and combo extenders. |
| Water | B | Natural | — | Balanced kit; outclassed by genkai later. |
| Earth | B | Natural | — | Defensive options; solid for learning combat. |
Best elements
Keep Particle, Ice, Wood or Crystal on sight. Iron Sand, Gold Dust, Explosion, Boil and Scorch are the A-tier holds if you are not ready to dump more spins. Snow and Typhoon are playable but sit a step behind Ice for stun.
Particle
Onoki-style dissolve kit: high AoE, execute damage and one of the fastest flight moves. Community 2026 lists put it at or above Wood. Mastery 25 adds +5% Particle damage.
Wood
Highest AoE DPS for farming and bosses; the classic genkai ceiling.
Crystal
Extra range and damage boosts; excellent all-rounder.
Ice
Best stun and farming control; still the safest first genkai keep.
Iron Sand
Sand Village genkai — heavy control and magnet-style pressure.
Gold Dust
Sand companion to Iron Sand; strong burst and zone denial.
Explosion
Strong burst AoE; great step below S-tier genkai.
Boil
Solid damage-over-time pressure for mid and late game.
Scorch
High burn DPS; pairs with Fire-leaning Red Eyes kits.
How to roll
Use Element spins from codes and boss tokens. After 28 August 2026 the public dump is ThanksFor5KCCU! and the four strings beside it — spend those on Element last if your Clan is still Healer.
- Never reroll Particle, Ice, Wood or Crystal.
- Fire is the best Natural to keep while you hunt a genkai, especially on Red Eyes.
- Earth is the one most people should burn first.
- Mastery 25 on Particle adds a documented +5% Particle damage from the achievements board.
Mastery & synergy
Match Element to Clan: Ice or Crystal with Thousand Hands, Fire or Scorch with Meteor / Raven, Black Flames or Explosion with Purple Eyes, Particle with any high-burst kit that needs a execute button.
Family passives that mention a matching element mastery are why Purple Eyes family plus Purple Eyes clan still looks greedy — and why a Monkey family is the flexible pickup when the names do not line up.
